A Sweet Message from my Sewing Machine

Most of my crafting time lately has been consumed by sewing car seat cooler pads.  This morning, as I sat down to sew before anyone else in my home was awake, I noticed the thread on my sewing machine had made a little heart.  Thanks sewing machine, I love you too.  Read More... {Read More...}

Quick Decor: Curtains With Out a Rod

We have lived in our home for a almost two years and I had yet to hang curtains in our bedroom...until today.  I'm not ready to reveal all the changes I'm working on in the bedroom but I will happily share my quick curtain trick.  The walls in the room are a dark beige and our furniture is dark/cherry wood.  I'm really excited for a transformation bringing in some teal and brown accents but I had a difficult time deciding on curtains.  I've been seeking out fabric to make four panels for well Read More... {Read More...}

I’m Excited for the Craftaholics Anonymous Gift Exchange!

I love networking with other creative people.  I would love the ability to make something pretty for every fun new person I meet.  You know, just bounce on over and hand them something I created.  There are two problems with that scenerio: 1) I meet fun people a lot and don't have the resources to make something for everyone, and 2) people might think I'm a little odd.  Clearly I'm not living in la la land and am more selective about who I'm crafting for but I'm super excited about my enrollment Read More... {Read More...}

Sunday Showroom {handmade pretties giveaway from Luellabird}

Each month the Sunday Showroom posts will be sponsored by one fantastic handmade business.  This month I'd like to welcome one of my favorites, Luellabird.  I was immediately drawn to this handmade business when I saw their accessories are made from vintage buttons and fabric including vintage scarfs and neck ties.  A couple of months ago I entered Luellabird's monthly contest to name a pair of their earrings.  I was ecstatic when my clever entry was picked to name the earrings in the contest.  Read More... {Read More...}

Travel Tips for Disneyland with Infants and Toddlers

With experience from hundreds of visits to Disneyland with my daughter as an infant and toddler, it's easy to forget the challenges we have faced to make park visits enjoyable over the years. We were Read More... {Read More...}

Teacher "Happy Summer" Gift – Crystal Light Margarita Mocktail

Today is my daughter's last day of preschool before summer break.  I made a little "happy summer" gift for the director of the school and my daughter's teacher.  Who couldn't use a little Crystal Light Mocktail after teaching all year?  I just recently discovered this drink and love it!  The virgin drink comes in a few different flavors but the margarita seemed most appropriate for summer.I put the Crystal Light container with tissue paper in a big plastic margarita glass.  I used a scallop Read More... {Read More...}
