Summer Nights at SeaWorld San Diego Electric Ocean

Summer Nights at SeaWorld San Diego

Summer Nights at SeaWorld San Diego during the Electric Ocean celebration are my very favorite. The perfect weather, glowing entertainment, thrill rides and the best shows are just a few of the many reasons why our family always plan a few visits during the summer season. Electric Ocean activities and shows happen every weekend evening through Labor Day.

Beginning mid June, SeaWorld San Diego transforms weekend evenings to include new attractions, reignited shows, coasters and a Cirque Electrique performance in the bay.

Don’t miss these must-see activities, dining options, attractions and shows during your summer night visit to SeaWorld San Diego now through Labor Day.

Things to do summer nights at SeaWorld San Diego

Summer Games

Climbing Jacob’s Ladder is always on my oldest daughter’s must-do list and last year she finally reached the top to ring the buzzer. You’re only supposed to play once a year when you win so she’s counting down the days until her next try. Many of the park’s games are open to play during Electric Ocean.

Dining and Drinks at the Waterfront

With a gorgeous view of the water and an an eclectic summer menu, the Waterfront is a great place to spend the early evening or grab a light dinner. The Waterfront is open 4:00 – 7:30 pm for the duration of Electric Ocean. They host live music and serve craft beer, wine and frozen adult beverages. The menu includes summer flavors like crab salad on Hawaiian rolls, fresh ahi tuna wonton crisps, and more. The grassy area has seating and lawn games for a relaxing experience during your summer visit to the park.

Sea of Life

The large display of glimmering fish turns into a fascinating musical demonstration will illumination and synchronized music.

Cirque Electrique

Each time I see Cirque Electrique live, I’m in absolute awe of the talent. World Flyboard champion Jake Orel and USBA World Freestyle Jet Ski champion Mark Gomez shine in their stunning performances. Neon lights and synchronized glowing costumes make this show a must-see. Trapeze artists and acrobats on poles, trampolines and more combined with synchronized music and dance performances add to the already spectacular show. The Flyboard and Jet Ski take it over the top and have us watching multiple show times during a SeaWorld summer night visit.

Sea Lions Tonight

The Clyde and Seamore show hosts an evening performance of Sea Lions Tonight featuring their favorite friends and the always hilarious Biff.

Thrill rides

SeaWorld San Diego has many different thrill rides open during Electric Ocean including Electric Eel, Tidal Twister and Manta. During the evening activities, Manta gets a makeover and turns into Manta Re/CHARGED. The roller coaster has new special effects, colorful lights and electrifying music.

Club Current

Vibrant sea creature characters, an interactive dance floor and energetic DJ turns the night into a glowing dance party.

Laser Reef

Another festive dance area, Laser Reef, provides guests with the opportunity to be captivated by laser lights and music.

It’s easy to stay until the park closes with so many great activities and shows during the Electric
Ocean celebration. During our most recent visit just before school started for my oldest daughter, her and I were at SeaWorld San Diego until closing and on the drive back to our hotel were already planning next summer’s visit.
