October Snack Ideas

October is a favorite month as we are moving closer to comfortable outdoor weather, holiday decorations and fall crafts. This year feels quite a bit different because we don’t have a busy calendar full of weekend festivals and events. Trick or treating plans have not yet been confirmed but that is not stopping my daughters from planning their costumes and making Halloween themed crafts daily. We have already decorated our home and are looking forward to adding more spider clings to the windows with many additional crafts planned. October snack ideas are also a great way to elevate our month and add some fun to the afternoons. Sun-Maid Sour Raisin Snacks are a better-for-you Halloween treat that tastes like sour candy but are whole fruit with no added sugar. Taking the raisin up a level using sweet golden raisins, and simply adding a little sour pucker of natural fruit flavoring– that’s it! Nothing artificial, and it’s an entirely new flavor experience. They are available in sour flavors kids love; including blue raspberry, mixed berry, watermelon and strawberry. Be sure to pick them up next time your shopping at your favorite local retailer or online via Walmart and Target. They’re a great addition to our snack line up and its extra fun when they are served in Halloween themed snack containers.

Combined with a few other items, my daughters have a balanced healthy snack when they get home from school.

The Golden raisins flavored with other natural flavors are also a snack I also enjoy. Since being home most days with my daughters for the past six months, I’ve had to make a true effort to avoid all the kid snacks but Sun-Maid raisins are both great tasting and made with good ingredients so it’s a great snack for me too.

Crackers, cheese and Sour Raisin Snacks are one of the many combinations we share with our daughters and their cousins when we have family playdates.

  1. I love raisins and my kids do too. These are a great treat for the kiddos instead of all of the candy. A little of each works for me so I will be looking for these for my kids this Halloween.
