Preschool Classroom St. Patrick’s Day Week Ideas
My preschool classroom for St. Patrick’s Day week was always a class favorite. These easy preschool classroom St. Patrick Day week ideas are inexpensive and add to the festive fun this month. The green and gold sensory bin and a few themed activities are a great beginning to St. Patrick’s Day week.
St. Patrick’s Day Sensory Bin
My St. Patrick’s Day sensory bin is a leprechaun’s paradise. Green oats and gold kernels are easy to prepare.
- 4 C uncooked oatmeal
- 4 TBSP vanilla or rubbing alcohol
- Green food coloring drops
In large sealed plastic bag, shake oatmeal and vanilla or rubbing alcohol. When oats are fully equally coated, open bag and add several drops of green food coloring. Reseal bag and shake until oats are evenly colored. Spread green oats on cooking sheet and allow to air dry before adding to your St. Patrick’s Day sensory bin.
- 2 C popcorn kernels
- 4 oz Mod Podge
- 2 TBSP water
- fine gold glitter
In a sealed plastic bag, shake popcorn kernels, Mod Podge and water until kernels are equally coated. Open bag and add fine gold glitter. Reseal and shake. Spread gold kernels on foil lined baking sheet and allow to air dry before adding to your St. Patrick’s Day sensory bin.
Combine green oats and gold kernels in your preschool classroom St. Patrick’s Day week sensory tub. Add measuring tools for all day play and exploration.
This free shamrock printable can be used multiple times for several activities throughout the week. Use with paint dabbers or decorate with glue and pom poms.
Printable shamrock counter cards are great to incorporate in your math center.
I’m no longer teaching in a classroom but am using these preschool classroom St. Patrick’s Day week ideas at home with my youngest daughter. She is almost three years old and loves all hands on learning projects, especially those with glitter!
