Valentine’s Day alien pops with outer space valentines

Earlier this week I shared classroom valentines ideas with unique valentines from Cardstore. I recently ordered Outer Space valentines and created an alien pop treat for my daughter to hand out with the cards at her preschool classroom party. The treats were fun to make and I loved not having to spend hours crafting our own valentines.  Ingredients: large marshmallows (I used Kraft vanilla & chocolate flavored swirled marshmallows) white chocolate melting Read More... {Read More...}

Classroom Valentines Ideas

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate in my preschool classroom. The children are so excited to come to school with their treats for friends. Some valentines are made by parents, some are bought from the store, and some are tiny handwritten notes from the kids themselves. Regardless of where they came from, each valentine is delivered with a big smile. This year I will be giving valentines to my students and also will be helping my daughter make valentines for her four and Read More... {Read More...}

Mommy/Daughter Valentine’s Day Date Idea: manicures and pedicures

Every year for Valentine's Day my dad would give me a box of chocolate or other gift. He always made me feel extra special and taught me Valentine's Day is for celebrating the love you have for your family, not just a sweetheart. I want my daughter growing up with remembering how we made her Valentine's Days special too. She has a fun date planned with her daddy this year. Her and I had a special date too. Side by side manicures and pedicures are a great mommy/daughter Valentine's Day date Read More... {Read More...}

“I only have eyes for you” valentine {free printable classroom craft to send home to parents}

My preschool classroom students all made cute valentines for their parents with photos of them wearing big heart glasses last year. The parents loved the cards so much I'm doing it again this year. The heart glasses card is easy to make and can be used as a classroom project or with your child at home. Take photos of your child wearing heart glasses. Most craft stores have the glasses for just a few dollars. I recently saw the glasses at the Target dollar spot too.   Use the free Read More... {Read More...}

Make S’mores with Your Leftover Valentine’s Day Chocolates

Valentine's Day was such a fun holiday for us this year.  My four year old daughter had so much fun handing out and receiving valentines at school.  She completely understood that the purpose of the holiday is to celebrate the love you feel for friends and family.  She has a real sweet tooth and loved that she brought home so much chocolate.  Today I found the perfect use for all the leftover chocolate; we made yummy s'mores! The funnest part of preparing the treat was guessing the flavors Read More... {Read More...}

Donut Valentines with Free Printable Bag Topper

I feel like Valentine's Day snuck up on me this year.  I've been working on fun valentines for my daughter to give to her begindergarten classmates but I had not yet completed valentines for my own pre-k students yet.  Yesterday I came up with a very inexpensive and quick valentine to share with my students. I purchased a box of donuts from the grocery store and found Valentine snack bags at the dollar store.  I created the bag topper and simply folder it over the top of the treat bag.  I Read More... {Read More...}

Shrinky Dink Necklace – watch me on the SheKnows Daily Dish {video tutorial}

Do you remember the super cute "I am thankful for..." Shrinky Dink Necklace I shared at Mom Endeavors last year? My daughter and I will be making a few this week to send to grandparents for Valentine's Day.  Instead of using the thankful theme, we are making "I love you because" necklaces. A few weeks ago I co-hosted an entire week of the SheKnows TV Daily Dish show.  Each day I shared a fun and easy kids craft.  I had a great time teaching the host, Cathy Rankin, and her daughter how to Read More... {Read More...}

Sunday Showroom #16 {a list of handmade pretties}

I have shared before that I'm a big fan of Lisa Leonard.  I've met her in person and she is absolutely adorable, super nice, and incredibly sincere. With Valentine's Day in just a few weeks, I've been looking for a gift for my four year old daughter.  She is really into necklaces and is just old enough to take care of her jewelry.  I had so much fun browsing Lisa's website in search of the perfect necklace for my sweet daughter.  I found quite a few different pretties I know would make the Read More... {Read More...}
