National Plan for Vacation Day is January 30th, and our family has plenty of ideas in mind to participate. We travel often and routinely seek familiarity, but the times we’ve stepped out of our comfort zone are some of our favorite vacation memories. Every summer we spend an entire week in our favorite California beach town and love visiting Florida beaches, too, but we all agree that our Kauai family vacation two years ago was the best we’ve ever experienced together. This year we are hoping to plan a visit back, and our travel inspiration will be displayed with a lightbox photo strip in our home. Alamo’s National Plan for Vacation Day toolkit has everything you need to help you participate in National Plan for Vacation Day, too.
Our kitchen buffet table is currently topped with a reminder of our favorite family vacation and a suggestion that it’s “time for another adventure.” In our home, it’s always time for another adventure because we are often on the go, but it’s exciting to plan vacations you know the entire family will look forward to. Traveling back to Kauai is that vacation for us. We enjoyed everything about the experience in 2016, and would love to visit again. We ziplined upside down, snorkeled and went to a luau along with so many other activities and relaxing time during this family vacation. Our very favorite memories are about so much more than just being in Hawaii, but the gorgeous beaches certainly bias our choice when talking about planning our next big family vacation.
Our favorite Kauai vacation photos were the perfect reminder of where we plan to spend our earned vacation time.
Lightbox Photo Strip
- Lightbox map acetate strips
- Favorite family vacation photos printed to fit lightbox
I enjoy decorating with my lightbox, and to celebrate National Plan for Vacation Day, I printed a few of our favorite vacation photos. My large lightbox acetate strips are 2.8” x 12.5”. Instead of sizing the photos before printed, I printed on a 4” x 6” photo card at home then used the acetate strip as a guide to trim the printed images.
Trim your photos according to your lightbox to fit in the middle row.
Place family vacation photos in the middle row of your lightbox then cover with the map acetate strip. Slide acetate strips in all rows of the lightbox then display in your home for a reminder not to let those vacation days go unused.
It might just be a long weekend away or you might be thinking about a full week in Hawaii like us, either way you need to participate in National Plan for Vacation Day so you have something to look forward to this year! According to research by Project: Time Off, people who plan are more likely to use all their time off, take more vacation days at once and report greater levels of happiness in every category measured. Be part of the happy workplace!
