Our family enjoys visiting SeaWorld® San Diego often and were very excited to receive an invitation to the preview night of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. We enjoyed spending the evening with snow, shows, and family fun.
Stepping into the park and being surrounded by Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and holiday music immediately set the tone for a night full of magical memories.
My daughter enjoys spending time at the park feeding the sea lions and this night was no different. Her first time feeding the sea lions after dark was so much fun.
While visiting Santa’s Cottage we also saw a few costume characters, cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, and the reindeer in training. Two of Santa’s reindeer, Jingles and Winter, are vacationing at SeaWorld this year. The calf Jingles was named by a SeaWorld Facebook fan earlier this year.
Next we visited the Cat’s Christmas Parlor where we saw what the the cats of the Pets Rule show are up to during the holidays.
Lounging by the warm fireplace in comfy cat beds is exactly what we imagined.
We visited Snow World where my daughter made snow angels and perfected her snowball skills. Snow World features more than 6,500 square feet of snow each day.
My daughter was so excited to go sledding. The sleds are reserved for children 37 – 61 inches in height and are for single riders only. After her first time down the hill she asked to go again.
As we were leaving the Snow World area of the park, it began snowing. The artificial snowfall lasted for a few minutes and my daughter was sure she could catch a snowflake on her tongue.
Part of our evening at SeaWorld was spent dining with Chef Axel Dirolf. We learned about the new dining options and were treated to the Chef’s excellent dinner creations.
After dinner we had just enough time to secure great seats at Clyde & Seamore’s Christmas Special. The holiday show features the sea lions, Clyde and Seamore, in a funny festive television show.
Following the sea lion show we visited the Shamu tank to see the whales and then watched Shamu’s Christmas. The show features live entertainment including carolers and a saxophonist playing holiday music.
Shamu stadium is transformed into a winter wonderland with beautiful scenery, holiday lights, and the stunning whales.
Our family enjoyed the evening at SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration and could have easily spent an entire day enjoying the holiday activities and shows.
The event is included with your park admission and is open daily until January 4. When planning your visit be sure to check the show schedule because the dates and times vary.
Connect with SeaWorld San Diego on Facebook and Twitter to see park updates and learn more about the Christmas Celebration.
Disclosure: Our family received complimentary tickets to SeaWorld to attend the Christmas Celebration preview and have an extensive dining experience with Chef Axel Dirolf. All opinions are my own.
