Frankenstein Jello Cups

Last week we brought snacks for my daughter’s preschool class.  She was very excited to share Frankenstein cups!  I’ve seen so many green pudding cups with funny faces drawn but I wanted to avoid adding dye to pudding.  I used one of my daughter’s favorite snacks, Jello, instead.

Supplies:

  • Clear cups
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Hole Punch
  • Black permanent marker
  • Green Jello (not shown)

Use the black marker to draw faces BEFORE pouring the prepared Jello (per instructions on box: mix boiling water, cold water, and package mix) into the cups.  Place cups on cookie sheet and put in refrigerator to allow Jello to set.  I let ours sit in the refrigerator overnight before completing the next steps.

The Frankenstein hair is my favorite part of this treat.  I used a pipe cleaner to add some texture to the cups.  Bend the pipe cleaner to look like hair – it looks better if it’s messy!

Use the hole punch to make a hole on each side of the top of the cup.  Be sure to hold the punch facing you so you don’t get any plastic circles falling into the Jello.

Bend each end of the pipe cleaner to secure in the holes.

Now go and share these little guys with your friends!

These made great preschool snacks!  They would fun at a Halloween party too!
