Under the Sea Fun with The Little Mermaid, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort {Orlando, Florida}

Last week we were in Florida visiting Disney World and we had our first stay at the Art of Animation Resort.  Every guest has access to the entire resort but each themed area offers their own experiences.  The different themed areas include Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.  Our family had a great experience and my daughter could not have been more excited about our room featuring The Little Mermaid characters.

From the moment you stroll into The Little Mermaid themed area of the resort you feel like you’ve gone under the sea with Ariel and her friends.  

Each of The Little Mermaid standard rooms have two double beds or one king bed to sleep up to four.  The standard room was perfect for my husband, daughter, and myself.  

Already loving The Little Mermaid and having a four year old daughter, we were so excited by all the details in our room.  

The large statues of our favorite characters added to the storybook feel and we enjoyed walking around outside for photos.     

One of the best features of the resort is the amazing Big Blue Pool.  The pool is inspired by Finding Nemo and is the largest pool at the Walt Disney World Resort.  The zero entry pool welcomes you with many different colorful characters and fun splashing jelly fish.  One of the most fun features of the pool is the speakers playing music under the water. Directly next to the pool is the Schoolyard Sprayground, an amazing splash pad play area.  If you prefer to stay dry, you can spend your time at the nearby playground, Squirt’s Righteous Reef. The pool is located on the other side of the resort but our family enjoyed the short walk as we stopped at a few of the different play areas along the way.  When we weren’t visiting the parks or playing at the Big Blue Pool, we were swimming at the Flippin’ Fins Pool located just across the sidewalk from our room.

In addition to three pools, there are many activities and amenities at the resort for your family to enjoy.  

The resort has several different dining options including in room pizza delivery and the Landscape of Flavors restaurant with quick and tasty meal options. 

The Art of Animation Resort offers complimentary parking for every guest with a valid room key.

If you’re arriving from the airport, the resort offers complimentary transportation and luggage delivery to and from the airport.  The resort is also a stop for the Disney Bus Transportation.  The complimentary bus services provides transportation to and from the theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney.  If shopping at the parks or Downtown Disney, you can easily arrange to have your purchases delivered to your room.

Our under the sea fun with The Little Mermaid created great family vacation memories and we will definitely plan to stay at the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort again.
