Ultimate Dinosaur Party

Little sister is obsessed with dinosaurs and asks to visit Pangaea Land of the Dinosaurs in Scottsdale, Arizona daily. It’s new to Arizona and located at the Odysea in the Desert entertainment district and one we’ve visit often because it’s full of over 50 life size animatronic dinosaurs. We recently celebrated little sister’s third birthday with a dinosaur themed party there and had a wonderful experience celebrating with friends. The educational tour and fun activities are part of every visit but a first for many of our party guests. 

Pangaea Land of the Dinosaurs Birthday Party

Other than inviting our friends, making a party shirt and picking up a cake, Pangaea handled everything. This is the first party we’ve hosted in years where weeks of planning, DIY projects and late nights of party preparation were not involved. And I loved it!

Arrival

Little sister arrived ready to celebrate wearing her new favorite dinosaur shirt. I made the “three-rex” shirt the morning of her party and picked up a cake from our local Fry’s grocery store bakery.

Our guests arrived and checked in at the Pangaea entrance. The guide had us wait for our entire party to arrive then escorted us upstairs for lunch. 

Pangaea Dinosaur Grill

All Pangaea party packages include 2 slices of pizza per person and unlimited drinks at the Pangaea Dinosaur Grill located directly upstairs from the Land of the Dinosaurs. 

There are various seating options and our large party sat on the patio outside. All dinosaur themed tableware is included and the table was set prior to our arrival.

Cake

You are welcome to bring your own dessert for the party. The jungle themed cake we picked up from our local Fry’s grocery store bakery was perfect with the addition of a few of little sister’s dinosaur toys from home. 

The Pangaea Dinosaur Grill servers were very attentive and knew the perfect time to bring out the cake with lit candles. After the birthday song they cut the cake and served it to our guests.

Dinosaur Encounter

Then we had our first dinosaur encounter of the party. A walking dinosaur came out to greet our guests with a guide to provide an educational experience and answer dinosaur questions. 

The younger guests and our birthday girl quickly warmed up to the big dinosaur.

Land of the Dinosaurs Tour

Next we were escorted downstairs to begin our Land of the Dinosaurs expedition. Little sister has loved the guided tour from our very first visit. Her party was a great opportunity to share her favorite dinosaurs with her friends.

The tour through the dinosaur exhibits is very educational with many hands on learning experiences.

The animatronic dinosaurs move, breathe and vocalize the same way real dinosaurs did. They have true to life texture and are surely impressive in size. Every guide is an expert full of scientific information about the dinosaurs and their environments. We had guests ranging from two years old to big sister’s older friends. The tour held the attention of even our youngest guests and it was great to see everyone learning together.

Party Activities

Activities for parties vary depending on the package but all include access to the dinosaur exhibits, T-rex obstacle course, fossil digging and more.

Our T-rex Birthday Party included all interactive stations for guests. The dinosaur ride, dinosaur race cart ride, etching, face painting or airbrush tattoo, excavation station and sifting were fun activities and great for all ages. 

Photos

As the party started our guests took a photo in the front of the green screen together. 

All packages include a birthday souvenir photo for the birthday child with their guests and a happy birthday message. Individual souvenir photos can be taken for more fun.

Little sister enjoyed the day with some of her favorite little friends and the dinosaurs.

Our older daughter and friends also had fun and I enjoyed watching them take selfies with the dinosaurs!

The dinosaur party was a great way to celebrate little sister turning three and share one of our newest favorite Arizona attractions with friends.
