Summer Fun Indoor Toy Races

Summer heat and monsoon storms in Arizona are soon to be keeping us indoors for playtime more than my daughters would like. I have a few fun activities planned to beat the summer boredom and first up is our summer fun indoor toy races. We have many battery operated toys but prior to this week they were sadly the forgotten toys spending their days on bookshelves instead of being played with simply because their batteries had not been replaced. I gathered up all the toys and powered them up with Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries from Walgreens for indoor toy races to for an afternoon of playtime fun. This activity is great because each race is different and you can include many different types of toys.

Ready, set, go! Power your summer with indoor toy races.

Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries are the #1 longest lasting battery with a 20 year shelf life. They are lightweight and perform in extreme temperatures, -40° to 140° Fahrenheit, so it’s okay if we take the toy races outside and they end up left on our patio during the hottest summer days. The Ultimate Lithium™ maintains peak performance so our toys are in top shape for speedy indoor toy races.

Indoor Toy Races

Supplies:

  • battery operated toys
  • Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries
  • screwdriver
  • washi tape

Summer fun indoor toy races are easy with new batteries, a screwdriver and washi tape.

After you’ve decluttered the playroom and your children’s bedrooms to find all the battery operated toys, replace the batteries in the toys with Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries.

Change the batteries in the toys your children no longer play with then have summer fun indoor toy races.

Then set up your toy race track lines. This can be as simple or complicated as your children desire. My youngest daughter was excited to get the races started so we kept it easy with straight race lines on our dining room floor.

Use washi tape to make an indoor race track for your children to have toy races after you've changed the batteries in their power toys.

Put your toy racers in position, power them on and cheer for the winner!

Make an easy race track with washi tape, change the batteries in toys and have a blast with indoor toy races! Have indoor toy races to beat the summer boredom. Change the batteries in old toys to add to your indoors summer fun!

You might be surprised by the quickest toys and that sometimes slow and steady wins the race. Our little shape turtle was much faster than some of our other preschool toys from the playroom.

Power your summer with indoor toy races. Washi tape, old toys and new batteries is all you need for the ultimate summer fun.

  1. My kids would have a blast doing these races! We go through a lot of these batteries. They work so well and last a long time at least.

  2. I’ve been trying to come up with really fun summer ideas to beat boredom. I think this is really cool. I’m going to have some little ones over this week and will give this a try. The toys are too cute.

  3. This is such a fun idea and a great way to take a break from the hot summer sun. Between video game controllers, remotes and tech devices, we keep a steady supply of these batteries on hand.

  4. This is great to revive old toys with batteries. I would think the summer alone in Phoenix Arizona would keep you inside. I prefered outdoors in the winter when I lived there. But monsoon rains are pretty awesome.

  6. That really looks like a lot of fun. I would love to do this with the kids on a day like this where it is too rainy to do anything outside.
