Easy home organization tips

If you’ve seen me on Instagram, you know I turn into a panicked mess when I’m looking for anything in my office. As neat and organized as I would like to think it is, I can never find what I’m looking for. Just this week I spent hours pulling everything out of my office closet looking for business cards. By the time I found the tiny box of cards, my office floor was a disaster. Although I would love a full home makeover for easy organization, a little help with tips from the experts might really be all I need.

Stephanie, the community manager for Monkey Bars Storage, is here today sharing some tips on how to easily organize your home.

A perfectly organized home is something that most of us can only dream of having. Seeing rooms in home decorating magazines with rooms full of beautiful breakables and white leather couches only seems ridiculous when considering the kids and animals running around in the house. However, I’ve found that organizing with all the fuss going on in my home isn’t nearly as hard when adding the following tips into my daily routine.

Think About It – Before organizing a room, I sit down and think about its many purposes. For me, the living room of my small apartment is a relaxation zone, study center, office, and play area for my puppy. Having a lot of trinkets in coffee table isn’t really an option. Before decorating I consider the accessibility for my teething dog, breakable for my husband, and how cute it is for me.

Less Is More – Everything should have a purpose. If it item doesn’t have a purpose, then maybe it’s time to get rid of it. It can be really hard to get rid of items, but in the end it’s always better to have less, especially when you’re hoping to make a room seem bigger and more open.

Enlist Help – The easiest way to get organized is by getting others to help you. For areas that are really unruly, consider hiring a professional organizer. If you’re not working with an unlimited budget, try making organizing a game for your children and rewarding them for helping you. Describe to your partner the importance of getting organized and ask for help.

Furniture With Storage – After throwing away or donating as much as you can, if you still have too much stuff considering using furniture with storage. Entertainment centers, coffee and side tables, and foot stools today all have options that come with sneaky storage compartments. These are especially great for items that you’d like to keep away from little hands and paws.

Whatever your situation, find the organization system that works best for your family. Deciding to get organized may not be the easiest choice, but it should be an easy process with these tips.
