Last week my daughters and I visited Butterfly Wonderland to see the butterflies and take a break from the chaos in our home currently accompanying our house selling process. It was an extra special visit because my oldest daughter and I were wearing our matching Reebok Classics shoes. Yes, you’re remembering correctly – those awesome white shoes from the 80’s. They were once a training shoe but now a classic and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with my daughter.
I remember wanting to be just like my mom when I was little. She was tall and pretty and so nice. All my friends said she was the best and always made everyone feel so happy. As a little girl, tall, pretty and nice were favored but I also noticed her long brown hair, the dresses with flowers she wore to church and the bright white shoes she always put on before she left to aerobics. I vividly remember Reebok Classics and always wanted a pair so I could be just like her.
I can only hope my oldest daughter feels the same about me. She is everything I could have wished for in my first child and I strive everyday to be a good example for her. It’s very important to me for her to see me as strong and confident while also warm and kind. She is growing up knowing she always has a solid support system with the courage to be anything she wants to be.
Our day together at Butterfly Wonderland was a great time to really slow down and enjoy each other. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in our day to day business, just like the camouflaged butterflies in the trees.
We went straight from school pick up to see the butterflies so she was wearing shorts, a comfy top and her everyday Reebok Classics.
Created in 1983 as the first ever training shoe made with premium leather, the Classic Leather has been breaking boundaries for years. It’s the perfect shoe for everyday fun with that classic look we love.
The Reebok Classics was the first training shoe to be made out of leather and now it’s a great comfortable style for casual wear.
Little sister shadowed her every move and asked for my phone to take photos too. The pictures in my camera roll are blurry but nothing makes my momma heart happier than seeing my girls learning together.
We had such a great day together and our matching Reebok Classics are just the beginning to many adventures.
Who did you look up to as a child?
