We celebrated Fit Made Fun Day September 6th by getting active with the new LeapFrog LeapBand and sharing healthy snacks, CLIF Kids Zbar Protein. The Fit Made Fun celebration was to inspire kids everywhere to get up and active. The new LeapBand is an excellent way to encourage active play while making fitness fun.
The new LeapFrog LeapBands are the only wearable virtual pet pal that tracks kids’ movement and suggests fun active challenges. I was looking forward to sharing the LeapBands with my daughter and her friends because at five years old, they all love the idea of having a virtual pet. The LeapBands are easily charged by plugging them into your computer and can be customized for each child.
Each virtual pet on the LeapBands gets rewarded for completing activity challenges like jumping and running. The pet also needs special care including healthy snacks and meals, grooming, and lots of love. The virtual pet teaches your child how to incorporate healthy choices in their daily routines while making fitness fun.
My daughter, friends, and even our Siberian Husky Sophie enjoyed learning about the LeapBands and how to use them. I provided little instruction and allowed the kids to explore the LeapBands on their own before telling them what to do. They easily figured out how much fun they could have caring for a virtual pet.
While wearing the LeapBand the children hula hooped, jumped, danced, ran, and even sang silly songs together. They were very attentive to how their activities were rewarded. They also realized the LeapBand is a watch that verbally tells the time when prompted. This is a great tool for children just starting to wear watches and learning to tell time.
In between fun activities the children snacked on CLIF Kid Zbar Protein, a delicious whole grain, protein snack made for kids’ growing bodies. We received a variety of flavors for the party including chocolate chip, chocolate mint, and peanut butter chocolate. Each bar has five grams of complete protein and is made with 70 percent organic ingredients. They do not have partially-hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, synthetic preservatives or artificial flavors. They also do not contain trans fat. The bars are a great snack during active play!
