Last year when I was invited to the Social Media on the Sand conference at Beaches Turks and Caicos I knew it would be an unbelievable experience. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment when my husband and I realized it overlapped with an out of state work conference he could not miss. Knowing I couldn’t attend with my husband and not wanting to pass by the opportunity to learn with top social influencers, I invited my mom, her cousin and 80 year old aunt to go with me. It was the first time my six year old daughter would be home for a week without either myself or my husband and I truly felt guilty with Beaches reputation as the ultimate family vacation destination. Attending the conference and making it a girls trip with relatives I wouldn’t otherwise see, I had an amazing few days away from home. With the announcement of the dates for Social Media on the Sand 2015, I have a long list of reasons why I would love to go back and bring my husband, six year old daughter, and baby with me. My top 10 reasons I would attend Social Media on the Sand at Beaches Turks and Caicos again include the incredible accommodations, beautiful resort, and of course the luxury of beaches with white sand and turquoise water.
10 reasons I would attend Social Media on the Sand at Beaches Turks and Caicos again
1. Family friendly conference activities
From the moment we arrived, my relatives and I were treated to an amazing experience. The conference schedule was full of family activities and although most were there with children and spouses, my adult relatives certainly weren’t left out. Every family activity incorporated fun for the entire family.
2. Accommodations
The entire conference group stayed at the Key West Village section of the resort. With a group of four adults we stayed in a two story two bedroom concierge suite.
The suite included a living and dining area, two full bedrooms with bathrooms (one including a full size tub) and laundry room.
The full kitchen included an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Each morning the refrigerator was fully stocked with cold beverages.
The suite also had two balconies with ocean views.
3. Turquoise water and soft white sand
The beach definitely tops my list of why I would go back to Turks and Caicos. Seeing other families play with their children in the soft sand made me miss my daughter and I know she would love to be there enjoying the beautiful water.
4. The resort staff
I truly have never experienced greater service or more sincerely genuine staff anywhere we’ve traveled. Without even asking for assistance, there was always someone there happy to help with a smile.
5. All inclusive dining
With 20 different restaurants at Beaches Turks and Caicos, it was impossible to experience all the dining options in less than a week. We ate different meals at buffet style restaurants and had a few meals requiring reservations. I have a list of restaurants we didn’t make it to that will make it into the agenda when I visit again.
6. Resort activities
With a variety of so many activities from kids camp to water sports, there truly is something for everyone. I visited the endangered rock iguanas as part of the exploration activity with the conference. The experience was remarkable and I learned so much about wildlife on the island.
7. Pirates Island Waterpark
The gigantic slides, pools, lazy river, splash areas and more make this one of the best resort waterparks I have ever seen. It’s perfect for kids and I know my daughter would have a blast playing with friends there!
8. Resort exploration
I didn’t experience nearly enough of the resort. The conference kept attendees busy with fun sessions and activities while our families enjoyed spending time at the resort. I would love to visit again and fully explore the property.
9. My family will love the experience
My daughter is drawn to animals and enjoys learning about them. When I asked her what she wanted me to bring home from Turks and Caicos for her she just asked for a picture of the iguanas and starfish. Words and pictures cannot express the true magic of seeing these amazing creatures in their natural environment. I would love to share the learning experience with her.
10. Social Media on the Sand
I’ve attended a lot of conferences over the past few years and honestly believe Social Media on the Sand is the best. It was organized, engaging, full of relevant content and definitely family friendly.
