L Week Preschool Snack: Rice Cake Lions

Today my daughter is sharing rice cake lion snacks with her preschool class.

This snack was fun and easy to prepare!

Ingredients:

  • cinnamon butter (I used Land O’ Lakes new cinnamon sugar butter)
  • rice cakes
  • chow mein noodles
  • raisins
  • craisins

You can use a frosting bag and tip or a Ziploc bag to pipe the butter onto the rice cakes.  If you’re using a Ziploc, start by placing the empty bag in a cup to easily fill it with butter.

Cut the tip off the baggie and pipe on the lion hair.

In addition to the hair, add a small circle of butter in the center of the rice cake.  Add raisin eyes, a craisin nose, and noodle whiskers.  I used a toothpick to draw the mouth right into the butter.

Be sure to refrigerate your snacks if you aren’t serving them immediately because the butter will melt and spread.

I’m sure my daughter’s classroom will be full of happy kiddos at snack time today!
