If you know me, you know I’m constantly working. If I’m not at my day job teaching in a classroom, I’m running errands, attending my daughter’s scheduled activities, wrapping up my Homeowner Association secretary responsibilities, or working in my office at my computer while everyone else in my home is sleeping. I am not complaining. I love everything I do and couldn’t be happier with where my time is spent. I’m so fortunate that I get to complete 99% of my daytime duties with my four year old daughter by my side. With that being said, sometimes I forget to simply stop and do nothing more than live in the moment.
Be Happy with a Calm Life quote print by Kelsey Davis Design
My only child is growing quickly. Enjoying the small parts of our day, while focusing on nothing more than her little smile, is something I don’t do enough. This weekend I will be spending a few days with my family in an internet free zone. I’m looking forward to the short break and plan to spend the entire holiday weekend doing nothing but enjoying my family.
Have a safe and fun weekend. Remind yourself to simply enjoy where you are, even if that means being happy with a few calm hours in your day.
This is so great! I really need to remember this. Since I work from home, I feel constant pressure to work. My house never gets cleaned and I don’t spend as much time with my fur kids as I did when I worked OUTSIDE the home! I need to remember that it’s not only OK, but incredibly healthy and productive to just shut down.
I hope you had a great weekend, Heather! You are so right, sometimes we just need to turn off and slow down!
