Our family is always looking for fun ways to spend time together at home. We have family movie nights weekly. This week our family night was extra special because we added a craft and fun meal. We decorated bags and baking cups to hold our Tyson Popcorn Chicken and dipping sauces. Then we watched a movie under a big fort we built in our living room.
While shopping at Walmart recently I attended a demonstration about Tyson Popcorn Chicken and noticed signs about the presale of the new Fast and Furious 6 DVD. I was in college when the first Fast and Furious movie came out and remember watching it in the theater with friends. Years later I’m just as excited to see Vin Diesel driving fast cars! The demonstrator shared that she was also excited to see the new movie. She had a few great ideas for ways to have a movie night at home with Tyson Popcorn Chicken and Fast and Furious 6. By pre-purchasing the movie at Walmart you don’t have to worry about coming back to pick it up on the release date. The movie gets mailed directly to your home. The idea definitely was intriguing but also had me thinking about creating my own family movie night appropriate for my four year old daughter. The chicken I tasted from the sample was yummy and I knew my daughter would love it. I purchased a bag from the freezer and went home to tell my daughter we were going to have a fun family movie night.
I also brought home the movie Shark Tale for our family night because I hadn’t seen it in years and I knew my daughter would enjoy the story. Later that evening I put the chicken in the oven and we took out a few crafting supplies. We used brown paper bags and baking liners to make containers to hold our dinner. Each family member decorated their own bag with crayons and fish stickers to match the theme of the movie.
I cut the tops off of the paper bags to make them shorter for my daughter’s little hands to reach in and grab pieces of chicken. We all had so much fun crafting while dinner was in the oven.
The baking liners are the perfect size to hold dipping sauces and the paper bag made a great popcorn chicken carrier.
While the chicken was cooling we started building our family fort. I remember making forts with my brothers and how much fun we had. I love that we are creating great family memories together at home. Our family forts are built out of household items including chairs and sheets. Chip clips and clothespins are great to hold sheets in place.
Our fort was the perfect place to eat dinner and watch a movie!
We turned off all the lights and watched our movie in the dark.
Tyson Popcorn Chicken added to our fun family movie night and my daughter has already asked to do it again.
