My daughter has always been fascinated by animals. Last year we celebrated her birthday with a creepy crawly birthday party. This year she wanted to celebrate her sixth birthday by sharing her love for the ocean with her friends at an ocean animals birthday party. We visit SeaWorld® frequently and she has many different favorite animals. Our party decorations shared some of her favorite moments learning about ocean animals with many different SeaWorld team members. She was also very excited to send each friend home with a beach pail full of fun educational materials.
Our party display was kept simple including gifts for guests, seashells, a sand castle cake, and leis. The party had a bit of a luau theme with some beach inspired decorations.
As the SeaWorld Kid Blogger, my daughter had quite a year full of many different learning opportunities at SeaWorld San Diego. We chose to highlight some of her favorite memories by turning photos into posters. After the party we hung the posters in her bedroom.

Decorations were minimal and included a bubble backdrop very similar to the one I used at our Back to School Bubble Party. I used classroom bulletin board edges and bubble wrap to create the fun wall. Some of the other decorations came from a luau we hosted almost 10 years ago. The light up palm tree and banners were likely purchased from a party decor store many years ago.

My daughter insisted on having a piñata at her party. She selected the biggest pink piñata she could find at Party City.
I made a very easy sand castle cake decorated with finely crushed graham crackers, chocolate seashells, and candy pearls.
If you’ve ever been to SeaWorld, you probably have had a famous Shamu® Cookie. The soft cookies dipped in chocolate are a favorite treat for my daughter when we visit the park. She was very excited when SeaWorld San Diego’s Chef Axel sent us whale cookies for her friends to decorate during the party. Decorating cookies was a perfect party activity.
For party entertainment we had a bounce house. My daughter and her daddy had so much fun bouncing together before and after the party. During the party the bounce house was a popular attraction in our back yard.

Each guest took home a Shamu coloring book and beach pail filled with animal related educational material.
The SeaWorld San Diego education department sent us all the supplies to fill the pails. The children each received bookmarks, animals cards, temporary tattoos, bubbles, and animal friendship bracelets.
