I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Twinkies. I received samples and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
I grew up knowing there would always be a stash of Twinkies on the top shelf of our kitchen pantry. While they weren’t an everyday snack, it was always exciting when my two younger brothers and I enjoyed the treat on warm summer days. Since the historic comeback of Twinkies last summer, Hostess has baked and shipped 500 million Twinkies. That’s a lot of Twinkies! Hostess is celebrating with a comeback edition of the Twinkies cookbook and fans have the opportunity to submit their favorite recipes to be included. I’m one of the fans crossing my fingers with a new Twinkies recipe. My frozen Twinkie pops are an easy and tasty cool treat. My brothers and I enjoyed plain Twinkies but soon we’ll be turning to the new Twinkies cookbook for unique spins on a childhood favorite.
Twinkies Recipe: Frozen Twinkie Pops
Ingredients:
- Hostess Twinkies
- milk chocolate chips
- sprinkles
- popsicle sticks
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until chocolate is completely smooth. Spread a thin layer of chocolate on the bottom of the Twinkies and place chocolate side down on baking sheet.
Drizzle melted chocolate over top of Twinkies and cover in sprinkles. Place popsicle sticks in Twinkies and freeze for approximately two hours.
The frozen Twinkie pops easily come off the baking sheet.
Enjoy your new favorite Twinkie treat!
I’m submitting my frozen Twinkie pops recipe to Hostess for an opportunity to have my recipe included in the new Twinkie cookbook. The cookbook will be debuting many favorite Twinkie recipes in 2015 just in time to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Twinkies. If you have a favorite Twinkie recipe, submit your recipe to Hostess to potentially be included in the Twinkies cookbook by July 31, 2014!
