Enjoy the Foods You Love
I’ve been sharing my journey reading Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. The New Approach to Food book author Joel Marion shared why he was inspired to create the plan and I’ve been intent on learning everything about the nutrition plan backed by surprising science that debunks popular diet myths. It offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night. My original goal was to learn about ways to change my relationship with food and consistently stick to a plan for routine instead of just a quick drop in pounds then returning to my old habits. So far, I’m loving the easy plan and enjoying all the recipes included that aren’t taking my favorite foods out of my meal plan.
I grew up with two working parents and I intermittently spent afternoons in daycare but for the most part, we were home and dinnertime was spent together aside from a parent being at work. There are a handful of meals I remember making often appearances at our dinner table. Meat, potatoes and bread were a constant. I also grew up with a sweet tooth and my entire life, I’ve known chocolate ice cream or a warm batch of cookies will make me feel better at the end of a hard day. This is a constant struggle and the reason why, regardless of my dieting efforts, I inevitably end up turning back to my normal habits.
It’s an easy concept – eat the foods you love prepared differently to accommodate your health goals. You don’t have to cross off dessert, just do it differently, like with the Always Eat After 7PM No Bake Salted Caramel Bar recipe. So far, I’m enjoying learning about the different ways I can eat the foods I already love by using the recipes shared in the book.
Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.
The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.
