Kids Craft Potato Stamp Shirt
Summertime crafts are in full swing at our house. That also means we have many messy hands to clean over and over all day long. My oldest daughter has always loved arts and crafts but she is on the more conservative side when it comes to getting paint and glue on her hands. Little sister is like a tornado with a paint brush and manages to get everything everywhere in just a few minutes. Luckily we are fully stocked with Dial Complete® 2 in 1 Moisturizing & Antibacterial Beauty Bar and Foaming Hand Wash. America’s beloved soap brand of 70 years just broke through with a new lineup that’s both antibacterial and moisturizing making it a fantastic new 2 in 1 soap perfect for all our summer messes. We recently purchased the Manuka Honey Dial Complete® 2 in 1 Moisturizing & Antibacterial Beauty Bar at Dollar General and it was a great clean up for our kids craft potato stamp shirt project this week.
We have always encouraged self expression with art in our home and our daughters know it’s a usual, “absolutely,” when they present an art project idea. Sometimes those incredible ideas aren’t always the best for mom’s clean up and more times than not, they also don’t work in little sister’s favor after the mess has been made. Last summer my daughters asked to make a rocket ship from a cardboard box and paint. What could go wrong?
This summer we plan to spend more time with washable paint projects and new moisturizing & antibacterial formula from Dial® that can be used on your hands, body and face.
Potato Stamp Shirt tutorial
Supplies:
- white shirt
- potato
- sharp knife
- small metal cookie cutter
- fabric paint
- paint brush
To make the potato stamp, cut a large potato in half. Then push the metal cookie cutter into the center of the open side until the top of the shape is fully inserted into the potato. Use a sharp knife to careful cut around the edge of the potato about half an inch allowing the inserted cookie cutter to serve as a guide. Simply push the knife until it stops at the metal and cut all the way around the potato.
Use a paintbrush to paint the shape then stamp on your shirt. My youngest daughter loved this activity and very carefully placed her stamps on the shirt.
To no one’s surprise she then painted herself too.
We walked very carefully not touching any furniture, pets or walls on our way to the restroom for a good hand washing with Dial®. The unique nourishing formula from Dial® gently cleans and moisturizes leaving skin feeling huggably soft and beautiful, exactly how we want little sister to feel after a good messy craft project.
Our potato stamp shirt was only messy on little sister’s hands but on days that she paints more of herself, Dial® is safe to use on her face and body too for soft smooth skin.
Her sweet little hands went from messy to clean and soft with a quick wash in the bathroom sink.
She’ll be wearing her kids craft potato stamp shirt throughout the summer and I’m sure we’ll have many follow up paint projects with more stamping fun.
