One of the last things we did before we moved into our new home was BOO a few of our favorite neighbors. We’ve enjoyed BOO’ing for many years but this year was extra special because it was the last before moving to a new neighborhood. The Glow in the Dark BOO Kit is a very favorite and now we are loving the Glow in the Dark BOO Yard Decoration we made for ourselves too. It’s festive during the day but is even more fun when it gets dark outside. This easy to make DIY Halloween decoration is a great project for children too.
Glow in the Dark BOO Yard Decoration
Supplies (affiliate links):
- Paper mache letters in your preferred size (ours are 12″ tall and 2″ thick)
- Multi-Surface Lime Green Paint
- Glow in the Dark Green Acrylic Paint
- 12″ Bamboo Skewers
- Glue gun and hot glue
Paint letters with multi surface paint and allow to dry. The paint might make the paper mache letters bubble like ours. The bubbles add to the Halloween decoration and make them appear to be covered in slime.
Next fully cover letters with glow in the dark paint and allow to dry.
Use glue gun to carefully attach bamboo skewer to back of letters.
Stake the Glow in the Dark BOO Yard Decoration in your yard and wait for the sun to go down!
Other glow in the dark decorations and lights will add to the family friend Halloween decor in your yard. Do you decorate your yard for Halloween too?
Absolutely adorable! I am always looking for new stuff to decorate my yard with! This would be perfect!
Love this and really want to make it for my front porch -I have a bush near the porch. It’ll be so cute with it glowing in the dark.

This is such a cute idea! I think that my kids would love to do something like this. I haven’t heard of “BOO” -ing before, but it sounds like fun! Also anything glow in the dark is a win for my kids!
What an awesome idea! Ya know, my son’s cub scout troop is hosting a halloween camp out and everyone is decorating their sites. I am going to do this!
I think I will let my daughter make this weekend. She is very much into crafts and this seems simply, and would not cost an arm and a leg. Thank you.
