Earlier this week my daughters and I visited the Talking Stick Resort Arena to spend some time with the cast of Marvel Universe LIVE!. We learned directly from the stuntmen what it takes to train and prepare for their epic fight scenes and physically demanding show. Then we saw Marvel Universe LIVE! in Phoenix on the opening night to watch everything we learned come to life. Behind the Scenes of Marvel Universe LIVE! was a great learning opportunity about a fantastic show that takes so much preparation and hard work to put on.
The show’s cast is a group of very diversely talented acrobats, gymnasts, stuntmen and actors. They showed us how, although their fight scenes look real, they spend hours rehearsing and practicing to ensure safety. We learned about the show equipment, choreography, makeup, costumes and more.
Every cast member we asked said they spend their off time training. Most have extensive experience with physical sports like gymnastics, rock climbing and stunts. My eight year old daughter was very intrigued because she is on a competitive rock climbing team. My daughters were quite excited to see Spider-Man while wearing the easy Spider-Man shirts we made earlier this week.
My daughters chatted with the gymnast who plays Gamora in the Marvel Universe LIVE! touring show. Little sister asked how she makes her face green and we learned about her makeup and hair routine. She is a stunning athlete and had very encouraging words for my oldest daughter.
Seeing her live in action during the show was exciting!
Marvel Universe LIVE! begins with Doctor Strange floating in space introducing the story and characters.
The show includes so many amazing backdrops, special effects and more. You’ll see your favorite Marvel characters and watch as they impress with their amazing stunts.
Behind the scenes of Marvel Universe LIVE! gave us a great appreciation for all the preparation and hard work put into making this show incredible.
