Fall Tree Kids Craft

This project was originally shared 2/26/12. Although we live in Arizona and don't get much of a fall season, it's my favorite time of year because kids can finally comfortably play outside and personally drinking warm coffee in a seasonal cup doesn't feel so silly. Fall to me says cute boots, cinnamon pinecones, and plenty of kids crafts. Sure, we could also be sipping cold lemonade while wearing flip flops because our warm temperatures don't quite drop low enough to actually warrant wearing Read More... {Read More...}

How to save used wall decals for later use

Until very recently we had an adorable Finding Nemo bathroom in our home that my six year old daughter loved for many years. Sadly now that we are in the process of selling our home, we recently toned down the bathroom and painted over our favorite ocean wall. The wall had a fun mural with a wavy top and was covered in vinyl wall decals. The under the sea decals (similar, affiliate link) and Finding Nemo Self-Stick Room Appliqués (affiliate link) made this one of my daughter's Read More... {Read More...}

Disney Descendants Party

Growing up with a love for favorite Disney Princesses and Villains, it's easy to wonder what would happen if they had children. The new Disney Descendants is telling exactly that story! Imagine Maleficent's daughter, Mal, and Cruella de Vil's son, Carlos, attending school together while Chad Charming, son of Prince Charming and Cinderella, is not far away with Jane, the Fairy Godmother's shy magic loving daughter. This movie is going to be epic. The movie debuts on the Disney Channel Read More... {Read More...}

Pink and gold nursery

When we first found out we were expecting, I truly had no gut feeling about our baby being a boy or a girl. Finding out we were having another daughter was a very exciting moment. Although my six year old daughter said she wanted a baby brother initially, she is now ecstatic about having a baby sister. I started planning a nursery soon after and tried to stray far from my favorite blues I somehow end up incorporating in every room of our home. My daughter was heavily involved in the color theme Read More... {Read More...}

DIY glitter animal wall art

With a new baby arriving soon, I've been working on her nursery and finishing up my last projects. Her pink and gold nursery is the perfect place for a DIY glitter animal wall art collage. I transformed frames I already had at home into glittery safari animal silhouettes. The nursery itself is very glam and these framed animals softened the room to make it a fun wall for a new baby. DIY glitter animal wall art tutorial  Supplies: frames for collage (any size and color) spray Read More... {Read More...}

Solar Energy: how installing solar panels will help the environment and your wallet

This post is part of a sponsored campaign by Sungevity. My daughter is constantly sharing ideas for our family to help conserve energy and water. Just last night she suggested I take 12 second showers to conserve water and save the oceans. She has always been very aware of the environment and has no problem telling others how to help take care of the planet. Her confidence and innocent persistence has forced children to throw away snack wrappers on the playground, led cafeteria discussions Read More... {Read More...}

Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat book page banner and DIY art

Moving into our new home several years ago I was most excited about decorating my daughter's play room. The formal dining room area was the perfect space for a Dr. Seuss themed play room. I kept the decor simple and made everything myself. I purchased a used and slightly damaged The Cat in the Hat book online to make a banner and matching canvases. We recently transitioned the room from the Dr. Seuss play room to a Disneyland family game room simply because my daughter has outgrown the need Read More... {Read More...}

Disneyland Party & Family Game Room

I previously shared our excitement in opening our Disney Side @Home Celebration party hostess box. I received free products in order to host the Disney Side party including everything I would need to invite friends over for fun. This year the Disney parks have chosen to celebrate guests showing off their "Disney Side" and I couldn't think of a better way to join the fun than by changing my daughter's play room into a Disneyland themed family game room. Our Disney Side party was the room debut Read More... {Read More...}

Easy home organization tips

If you've seen me on Instagram, you know I turn into a panicked mess when I'm looking for anything in my office. As neat and organized as I would like to think it is, I can never find what I'm looking for. Just this week I spent hours pulling everything out of my office closet looking for business cards. By the time I found the tiny box of cards, my office floor was a disaster. Although I would love a full home makeover for easy organization, a little help with tips from the experts might really Read More... {Read More...}

Your Cleaning Dream Comes True with Mohawk SmartStrand Carpet

I live in the very dusty state of Arizona with my very messy and creative four year old daughter, my husband, a big dog, and a cat. Although I vacuum almost daily, it's fair to say my carpet has seen better days. We have had a few notable stains including red paint from a holiday project gone wrong and grape juice from my daughter's sippy cup a few years ago. As hard as I've tried, nothing has seemed to remove the stains and they are now cleverly covered with rugs. When I heard about Mohawk Read More... {Read More...}
