Last summer was the first with our own pool. We were so excited when our yard renovation was complete and we spent every day from spring to early fall swimming. The cooler weather was genuinely disappointing because we knew it would be months before we could comfortably play in our pool again. Arizona temperatures are now close to 100° and we’ve already spent several weekends in our pool. Our hedgehog birthday party was the first time we had friends over to swim this season and from then our oldest daughter has invited friends over to swim daily. Little sister has been enjoying the water too. Her SwimWays Baby Spring Float Sun Canopy provides a safe way for her to practice kicking and be independent in the pool. SwimWays is a leader in helping children learn to swim and promoting water safety; each year they celebrate this initiative with an annual National Learn to Swim Day the third Saturday of May. This year is the sixth annual event and will be held May 20.
The SwimWays National Learn to Swim Day began in 2012 and is dedicated to being a resource for parents and sharing the importance of water safety. My daughters both had swim lessons at an early age. Our oldest daughter loved her weekly swim lessons for years but little sister hasn’t been so happy. We know there are many different styles and ways to teach swim; keeping our daughters comfortable in the water has always been the top priority. Little sister has used a SwimWays Baby Spring Float Sun Canopy since she was very young. It’s the best baby float product on the market and great for introducing infants to water comfortably. The baby float is designed for children 9-24 months to help them be comfortable and eventually learn to swim.
The baby spring float has many features that stand out against competitors.
- The removable and adjustable sun canopy makes it safe for all times of day.
- The soft mesh seat is comfortable for baby allowing natural movement.
- Mesh play space around the float is great for toys.
- Folds flat and includes carrying bag to easily bring the float to the pool or on family vacations.
The float and bag are very light and little sister gets very excited to help get ready for pool time. I remember being in swim lessons for many years as a child. My husband and brothers laugh because after all those years of lessons, I’m not a strong swimmer. However, I am comfortable in the water and was taught about water safety as a child. Swim team may not be in little sister’s future but we recognize the importance of teaching her how to safely enjoy the water.
The float and shade pop open and lay flat.
Quickly inflate the two rings and the float is ready for use.
The sun shade secures with snaps and can be adjusted according to the sun position, or fully removed for late afternoon pool time when our water is fully shaded.
While little sister might not be enjoying her swim lessons, she is certainly having fun in our pool at home. SwimWays gives her the confidence she needs to enjoy the water and practice her swim skills like kicking and paddling to the edge of the pool.
SwimWays encourages parents to celebrate National Learn to Swim Day May 20 in their own way as they are making efforts to help educate parents about the importance of water safety. We’ll be spending the day in our pool practicing early swim skills. How will you celebrate?

This is so cute! My youngest is three months old and actually starts swim lessons tomorrow! I wish he was a little bit older now to try this! So cool!!
Adorable! They had these when my youngest was a baby. She had a ladybug one, and she loved being in it when we were in the pool. They are wonderfully made!
I love the shade cover and the way it is so foldable. Perfect for storing and letting little hands help.
Soooo…. do they make those in adult sizes because that looks amazing! Throw in a cup holder and I’d be in that bad boy all day!!
This is so cute, helpful and useful! We love swimming activities and I want to get one for my baby boy.
So very cute and the baby is adorable. Looking at these pics, I feel like summer is here.
We had those for our twins when they were that little. Otherwise I couldn’t get into the pool by myself safely alone with them.
This is such a great product, it’s perfect for the little ones who don’t know how to swim yet, but still want to be in the water with the rest of the Family 😉
We actually just bought one of these. Is used one for my oldest and it worked really well. So glad it’s finally warm enough to swim.
These are so cute and very useful. I’ve seen these type of floats before but never with a cover. It’s nice to see one with some extra added sun protection.
I love taking the kids I nanny for swimming. These floats are so cute and I’m sure, very useful and safe for littles
I always had my kids in the water from a very young age. What a great float for babies!
we used one of these when my girl was little. we loved it! and your litle girl is ADORABLE
This looks awesome. I want to get one for my son for the summer. It will be his first summer “swimming.”
Omg loving that they have these floats in pink now!!! My daughter had one when she was itty bitty and they only came in a blue, unisex shade. This one is so much cuter!!
I like the cover on this float. That is unique and great for the little ones too. Maybe they won’t get sunburned. That is about as safe of a pool float as you can get.
I am totally getting this float for my niece! I actually didn’t know they had floats like this, but I’m definitely sharing this with my sister in law so we can get it for her!
Pool safety for babies and younger children is so important. This is great for helping parents to get little ones to safely get used to being in the water.
