Ultimate Blog Party 2013 {thanks for stopping by and a little about me}

The 5 Minutes for Mom website is ran by two identical twin sisters who are passionate about everything related to being a mom.  Their site is a great resource for everything from parenting tips to photography.  Each year they host an ultimate blog party, a fun online party for mom bloggers to get to know each other and maybe win something fabulous while you network.  This is my first year participating.

I’ll just take a quick minute to introduce myself.

I’m Heather, an over achiever with 15 different projects being multi-tasked at any given time.  I didn’t believe blind dates were ever a good idea; until I met my husband on one over 10 years ago.  We have one child, a sassy four year old that is currently obsessed with learning about bugs.  I love to create and make giant messes with glitter. I’m a preschool teacher and enjoy seeing children develop their love for learning in my classroom.  Although I don’t even pretend to be a good cook, I enjoy spending time in the kitchen with my daughter and trying new recipes.

I have just one child and feel very fortunate to be her mommy.  My biggest pet peeve is hearing other moms publicly complain about their children.  My daughter is a little ray of sunshine in my life and I strongly believe all parents should feel that same amount of joy about their own child(ren).

Random fact about me – I’m the secretary of my community Home Owners Association…and love it!

Here you’ll find me blogging a little about everything.  I was laid off from my “dress pretty and have a big office” corporate job while on maternity leave almost 5 years ago. Although I loved going to work everyday, blogging has been an amazing experience.  I have met some of my best mommy friends here.
