Bouldering season has officially ended for our nine year old daughter but we are excited to cheer on her teammates participating in the upcoming rock climbing bouldering nationals competition. At just nine years old, she did fantastic this season and is excited to continue participating in a sport she truly loves. While in season she attends two team practices weekly for several hours each and has multiple personal climb days along with private lessons some weeks. On her off days she’s doing other physical activities like attending a Ninja Warrior training class weekly, playing at the park, rollerblading, bike riding, hover boarding and anything and everything in between. With so many physical activities, her laundry pile grows fast with clothes that shouldn’t be sitting in her hamper for long. Member’s Mark® Active Clean™ Scent Detergent at Sam’s Club attacks the toughest stains and odors while helping me maintain an easy laundry routine. My sports mom laundry tips are how I keep our house from being overcome by sports laundry and it ends up staying in tip top shape for those many practices and competitions.
We spent all of last year learning outside of our comfort zone to support our daughter as she became more and more committed to youth competitive rock climbing. In her first year competing we traveled to New Mexico for the regionals bouldering competition and then went to Tucson for divisionals with her qualifying rank. Just last weekend she participated in the divisionals competition and faced very challenging climbs. She is young in her age category and has two more years in this group so it was not upsetting that she didn’t rank in the top 10 at the competition. It was an incredible experience and will help her be prepared for next season.
Laundry is a daily chore in our home but I have a few tips to make it feel easy for your active family. Shopping at Sam’s Club always saves me time and helps me stick to a budget. Now through 1/28 look out for the Instant Savings Booklet as this product will be promoted in it with $2.00 off!
Sports Mom Laundry Tips
functional laundry room
I’m in no way suggesting you need a large space to do laundry well but while we’re in my laundry room I will share that I love the space I have in our new home. We just moved a few months ago and I went from quite a small laundry room to a big spacious area with a window and sink, cabinets and hanging rack. My laundry room dreams came true and because of it I honestly don’t mind spending time on this chore. If you don’t have a large laundry room, shelves and storage cubbies are great additions to small spaces and help with organization.
Activewear basket
As silly as it sounds to suggest a hamper, this is essential. Help your kids help you by adding a small laundry basket designated for their activewear. The basket in our laundry room is specifically for my daughter’s activewear so that specific laundry can stay out of her bedroom closet where the rest of her laundry gets thrown between wash days. Sweaty practice clothes do not belong in the bottom of a large hamper!
Member’s Mark Active Clean Detergent
Member’s Mark laundry formulas have recently been upgraded for even more stain fighting and whitening/brightening power. Active Clean Detergent gives you superior cleaning performance at an exceptionally great value. I do her activewear laundry at least once a week because she wears the same shirt and pants to competitions but also has her favorites that make it to practices every week.
Hanging rack
A functional laundry room should have a place to hang clothes that don’t go in the dryer but if you don’t have the space for a hanging bar, consider adding a foldable rack like the one I had for my last home. Most of my daughter’s activewear does not go in the dryer so I use our hanging rack quite a bit for her clothes as they come out of the washing machine. After her clothes hang dry I usually toss them in the dryer with a dryer sheet for a few minutes before folding and putting away.
My sports mom laundry tips help keep me organized and not feeling overwhelmed by the amount of practice and competition clothes that end up in our laundry room. My daughter also appreciates having her lucky climbing outfits clean and smelling fresh.
Find all the Member’s Mark Laundry Detergent varieties in the Sam’s Club laundry aisle. Make the switch and like me, you’ll be amazed by the difference in your little athlete’s gear and feel great saving on an item you have to replenish often in your home.

I will have to check out this detergent! I am always looking for things to make my life easier and this sounds like it will do just that.
Member’s Mark sounds like a great detergent for the active person. I would recommend this to my friends who exercise.
I never thought to have a separate basket for the active wear. This is a great idea for the future as my son’s ative clothes can stink, and lets face it I don’t want to be doing laundry everyday. Member’s mark sounds like a great detergent. We no longer have Sam’s club here and I miss it so much
Omg this is great! Rockclimbing is awesome by the way. My youngest wants to start t-ball and I should look into this for his uniforms!
I really like your washing machine, we are in the market for a new one. The detergent looks great, we will have to give it a try the next time i go to the store 🙂
My daughter doesn’t do sports, but she does dance (hip hop), once a week. I know that during some classes her clothes are drenched from all their dancing. I’ll have to check into this.
I am definitely going to check this out. 99% of my clothing is active wear and I do feel like my detergent isn’t cutting it. I never thought to look for something for active wear. Also congrats to your daughter for doing so well!
It’s really important that we wash our children’s clothes really well especially after practice! I think these tips are perfect for parents with active kids or those who are currently participating in sports!
I agree with you that your laundry room is amazing! I think this detergent could make all the difference in having your sports clothes come out clean and fresh smelling.

I totally need this detergent for my husband! While it isn’t sports, he works on cars a lot and is ALWAYS covered in dirt and grease and cleaning those clothes can be a pain!
thank you for your tips. I have three daughters that have played fast pitch softball and that laundry was always my hardest challenge.
We have started basketball season and my daughter can seriously get funky and she keeps clothes hidden in bags for a while. I am almost out of detergent so I will have to pick this up.
My kids are into sports and their clothes can get very sweaty so a good detergent is a must. I am so impressed with your daughter and that sport.
I just love how active your daughter is and all the kind of activities she takes part in during her off days. This detergent sounds fantastic, its hard to shake off the sweat smell off workout clothes, will try this out.
I definitely need a separate basket for the active wear clothing, thanks for the tips 🙂

I have three boys and two of which are already in sports. I will need all the tips I can get to keep their jerseys clean!
That detergent work really as like you say. Fist time I heard Sports Mom and Laundry Tips mom. That was cool but you say all the post just determent. That determent are not harmful for hand. that clean the white cloth?
I’m a tide mom and I’ve always liked tide, I’m super picky on the laundry smells because teenagers plus sport = stink. This active cuts they the stink as well or better then tide? I’m willing to try if so. Always looking at ways to save a couple dollars as well.
