Our mornings start bright and early on school days. I am a pre-k teacher but I also have a morning classroom that begins at 6:30 for the kiddos that get dropped off early. My four year old daughter usually comes into class with me unless, on the rare occasion, her daddy gets to drop her off later in the morning. Getting enough sleep is definitely on my priority list for my daughter. With that in mind, we are always rushed to get out the door when we are ready to go in the morning. Breakfast is such an important and necessary start to a child’s morning. I always make sure my daughter either has breakfast at home or has healthy options to eat on the way. Thanks to Safeway and their Rise and Shine with Savings sale, I was able to save money and make sure I have great options for breakfast this week.
Every night before bed I write a reminder note for the next morning. Today I have three things I need to bring to school with us for my daughter – breakfast, show and tell, and a packed lunch.
While shopping at Safeway earlier this week, I took advantage of the Buy 4 Save $4 sale and picked up a couple of breakfast items.
I wouldn’t normally consider pop-tarts our go to breakfast because of the sugary frosting although they were a daily breakfast for me growing up. I was surprised to discover you can purchase pop-tarts with out frosting. Yummy and healthy! Yogurt is such an easy option to throw in my purse so I’m also getting a healthy breakfast at school. The fruit snacks have nothing to do with our breakfast routine but my daughter loves them and they were part of the sale!
This morning we were able to have a healthy breakfast that took no time to prepare.
I enjoy cooking breakfast on the weekends but when we have our early school mornings, my favorite breakfast fits right into my purse with out prep time or a mess!
