Halloween is such a fun opportunity to allow your children to express themselves in costume. Over the past six years my older daughter has dressed up in a wide variety of costumes ranging from frilly princesses to sea animals. As her mommy, I’m not sure there is anything cuter than her very first costume. I remember her first Halloween and the fun I had dressing her as a kitten in a big fluffy costume with a poofy pink tail. This year we have family costumes planned but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to dress baby sister in that same kitten costume. Because one day they are surely going to ask about these memories, I took baby sister to Portrait Innovations for Halloween costume photos. I brought along a “my first Halloween” printable photo prop and the photographer used it to perfectly capture a sweet smile from baby sister in the kitten costume. Thanks to Portrait Innovations for sponsoring this post; I received compensation but all opinions are my own.
Although we do have some cute photos of my older daughter in her first costume, I remember the challenges of getting photos in costume during trick or treating and other Halloween events with a baby. Babies are unpredictable. Without carefully planning your costume photos, you may just end up with a sleeping baby in a stroller instead.

Portrait Innovations prints your photos immediately following your studio session so I wasn’t concerned about having to wait for an order to mail to family and friends prior to the holiday. I actually just called yesterday morning and was able to schedule an appointment for photos that afternoon. I printed the “My First Halloween” printable and glued it to orange cardstock. Baby sister drools on everything so I brought a few copies with me to the photography session.
Just like our last baby photography studio session, the photographer did an excellent job selecting props and backgrounds.
With so many adorable photos to choose from, it was hard to pick just one.

I did receive compensation for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
