BIC Bucks for Teachers
Back to school shopping was definitely different for me this year because my oldest daughter wanted to pick out everything by herself. Instead of shopping with the school supplies list by myself like in previous years, she came along and was very specific about selecting every item in her preferred colors and style. Luckily this process was more fun than frustrating because we purchased BIC supplies from Target where we found a huge selection, even at the peak of the busiest school supplies shopping days. We were also smiling through the shopping experience because we knew our purchase would be supporting public school teachers with BIC Bucks for Teachers. As part of its BIC Bucks for Teachers program, BIC USA Inc. is donating $100,000 to DonorsChoose.org, a crowdfunding site for public school teachers.
Your Purchase Supports Public Teachers
The funds have already been donated but you get to help decide which classroom projects should receive donations. Through September 15, by purchasing $10 or more in BIC stationery products from any major retailer, you can apply to receive a $10 BIC Bucks donation code to distribute to a DonorsChoose.org classroom project you feel passionate about this back to school season.
We headed to Target to finish up shopping for back to school supplies and my daughter was excited to get a few final items for fourth grade. She had specific items in mind and took her time finding the perfect mechanical pencils. She decided a 60-count box of mechanical pencils would last the year. She was convincing but honestly I think it was more about the 20 “xtra sparkle” pencils in the box.
We came home with a few new school supplies and a very happy kid headed to fourth grade!
How to participate
In three simple steps, you can get $10 back from BIC to donate to your preferred local teachers on DonorsChoose.org.
1) Buy $10 or more of BIC® stationery products (before taxes or coupons) at any major retailer.
2) Snap a photo of your receipt and submit it on BICBucksforTeachers.com to apply for a $10 BIC Bucks donation code, while supplies last.
3) Use your donation code to contribute to your classroom project of choice on DonorsChoose.org.
I snapped a photo of my receipt on my iPhone then uploaded it on the BIC Bucks for Teachers site. The process was very quick and easy.
If you’re a public school teacher in need of funding for a classroom project, you can set up the donation page directly from DonorsChoose.org. From that same site you can search local public classroom projects by city, topics or schools. We found a surplus of fascinating classroom projects in our home town. It feels great knowing we are contributing to a positive educational experience simply by purchasing classroom supplies.

I was not aware of this BIC program to help out teachers. This sounds wonderful and most of us spend that much buying supplies for school. Glad to help out.
This is such an awesome idea. Teachers can definitely use all the help they can get getting the supplies they need for the school year. I love this and I will definitely do this.
I love that I can give back by purchasing the products that I already love. This is such a wonderful idea for teachers.
I would use Bic products even if they were not giving back. So knowing they are supporting our teachers is another reason to buy their school supplies.
BIC supplies are the best, especially their mechanical pencils. The fact that my purchase could earn money for our school is a huge bonus!
I love that they support teachers this way through this initiative! BIC was definitely a staple brand I used when I was in school.
This is such an awesome thing for BIC to be doing and I am sure it is really going to help so many teachers going into the new school year!
I love that BIC is doing this! Teachers deserve only the best. I’ll be sure to pick up some BIC products to help out.
Shopping for school supplies is a fun thing to do especially when there’s a lot of options to choose from and there’s budget given out by parents. For us, we just had to use the same supplies until they’re broken, misplaced, or used up. This program looks interesting for teachers.
I love that Bic is doing this for teachers. So awesome!
It’s so awesome that BIC is doing this! I love their pens and already buy them often, but this gives me even more of a reason to feel good about it!
We are doing back to school shopping for fourth graders this year too. Wow there list of stuff on the supply list doubled in size and price from previous years in elementary school. Bit of sticker shock this summer for us! So I can appreciate how the BIC program may be helping some people out who may be struggling to get their kids stocked up for school
I remember back to school shopping. I haven’t had to do that for years.
I’ve heard of this initiative and I think it’s awesome that BIC is doing this for the teachers. They buy supplies out of their own pockets and it’s good to give them as much support as we can!
How cool. i hadn’t heard this before but BIC is a big name in our house especially during back to school season!
I had no idea BIC Bucks for Teachers existed. What a great program! I am a big fan of BIC products.
Wow this is great. I love BIC products and always have a stash in my closet of my favorite pens. We still need to do my seniors school supply list, so BIC will definitely be on my radar.
