My husband and I are big fans of the original Monsters, Inc. movie. The animated film was released in 2001, well before our daughter was born. She has watched the movie and been on the Monsters Inc! Mike and Sully to the Rescue! attraction at California Adventure quiet a few times over the past several years. Although she is familiar with the original movie, we know she will enjoy the second film far more with a Monsters, Inc. refresher. We have been spending some time reintroducing the original movie and talking about the characters to get my daughter excited for the June 21 release of Monsters University.
In addition to watching Monsters, Inc. at home, we have done several other activities to get my daughter excited about the movie. We have been having fun on the Monsters, Inc. website playing games and learning about the characters.
My daughter’s favorite game on the Monsters, Inc. website is Sneak-A-Boo, an interactive game where you keep Boo hidden from monsters as she makes her way home.
Currently my daughter’s favorite character is Sully.
I’m sure she will love seeing him in Monsters University too.
Our family has weekly movie nights and usually ends up watching one of our Disney favorites. This weekend we’ll be watching Monsters Inc. while sharing fun themed snacks.
My husband and I have really enjoyed watching our daughter’s excitement and love for the monsters grow. It has also been a great opportunity for us to relive the magic of the original movie. We are counting down the days to the release of Monsters University.
Are you doing anything special to get your kids excited to see Monsters University?
