We have been in our new home for just over a month and are almost all settled in. Moving right before that much dreaded germ season meant I had a reason to fully restock our medicine cabinet while shopping at our local Fry’s, a Kroger banner store. In addition to making sure we had everything in our home to combat the germs already living there, I also added a few new items to the cabinet to help with all our sniffles coming from the season. Dial Complete Foaming Antibacterial hand soap and Kleenex® Anti-Viral were the first items to get placed on each bathroom counter. Halls Mentho-lyptus, THERAFLU® ExpressMax® Severe Cold & Flu Syrup, TYLENOL® Cold & Flu Severe and Breathe Right® EXTRA has me feeling ready for all that comes my way this season. Moving into a new home takes a lot of coordination and planning. Make sure you stock up for germ season so you don’t find yourself unprepared if those germs have you feeling yucky. I don’t have time to slow down so my medicine cabinet is always stocked up for germ season!
With our home finally put together we are able to focus on more fun together like checking out our new neighborhood park! We have a community pool, several parks and so many fun walking paths to explore. Family time has been refreshing from our fast month of staging our house, listing it for sale, making repairs and finally moving.
How to easily Stock Up for Germ Season
Dial Complete Foaming Antibacterial hand soap is America’s #1 soap* and one my family has trusted for many years. The Complete foaming hand wash is antibacterial and kills 99% of germs. The all family soap brand has scents we all love including Spring Water, Fresh Pear and Soothing White Tea. I have a mix of the scents in our bathrooms and kitchen. Plus, I’m loving the price and ability to pick this up while I’m out grocery shopping compared to other foaming nice smelling soaps!
Kleenex® Anti-Viral is another trusted product always in our house. With softness and value this is the only tissue we’ll ever need!
Halls Mentho-lyptus remind me of my grandmother because she always had these cough drops in her home too. I’m following her footsteps and have them well stocked for germ season in my new home as well. With triple soothing action, these cough drops soothes sore throats, relieves coughs and cools nasal passages – a win for all!
Next up in our medicine cabinet is THERAFLU® ExpressMax® Severe Cold & Flu Syrup and TYLENOL® Cold & Flu Severe. THERAFLU® provides power relief without a prescription while the TYLENOL® day and night pack includes convenient caplets to relieve painful cold and flu symptoms like coughing, congestion, and sore throat both day and night. These products are not to be used together but because they both offer great relief for germ season symptoms, we keep them both stocked in our home.
Lastly, let’s talk about the extra comfort provided by Breathe Right® EXTRA strips. The strips provide relief for congestion due to colds, allergies, or a deviated septum and reduce snoring caused by nighttime nasal congestion. My husband uses these and let’s just say it helps us all get some much needed rest when we’re tired and not feeling our best. Breathe Right® is drug free and safe to use with any sleep medication. We use the clear strips which are easier to remove than the tan strips making them great for those with dry or sensitive skin.

Oh yeah, we are ready. A few of us have been sick already, so I was glad we had the stuff we needed on hand.
We have already had our first round of colds due to the temperature being so cold on Halloween during trick or treating. We went through several boxes of tissues already. I’m hoping for a bit of a reprieve until after the holidays!
When we get anti-bacterial soap, we try to get Dial when it’s available. We need to get proactive and start stocking up on cold/flu meds.
I love stocking up on cleaning and hygiene products! I don’t like the idea of running out of those items especially during the winter. I think this is a pretty good selection! Love dial!
Good call. My husband brought home a cold last week and we were not prepared. Luckily it was a quick one and I didn’t catch it, but we definitely need to check the medicine cabinet!
Darn that germ season! So far, lucky and no germs this year, but I keep the medicine cabinet stocked just in case.
I keep several of these things around this time of the year because you never know what someone is going to get sick. I will have to get a couple of things you mentioned.
‘Tis the season, right??? I need to restock up my house with germ season supplies before I need them.
On Daylight Savings Time, cleaning out my medicine cabinet and restocking it is an annual event, along with changing batteries in our fire/smoke alarms!
These are all great to have, My daughter just got over a stomach bug and I went through and had to sanitize the whole house in hopes no one else will get it.
I need to do this! It seems to always hit when your not prepared!
Keeping your house stocked with these essentials can make the flu season, much easier to battle!
I’m the worst about stocking up. I usually wait till I have a cold to buy stuff which sucks because I would rather be at home in bed. Now is the perfect time to grab the necessities so if you should feel bad, you already have what you need to take.
I went to Kroger about two weeks ago and stocked up on many of the same items you showed! And so far, I am the only one who has gotten sick!
We have already had to bust into the cold medicine and tissue stash. I am going to have to restock.
I put together something similar for a friend who was sick, a nice basket with some cold medicine, tea and tissues!
YES! Thank you for the reminder. With 7 kids its essential to stock up for cold and flu season. I need to restock my house ASAP!
Oh I just love flu and germ season! I feel like with little kids runny noses and coughs are inevitable but by implementing these tips they may happen less frequently and I’m all about that!
We are all stocked up and ready. Hoping we have a great flu season with very few or no illnesses.
I will definitely be stocking up on a few of these! MY immune system is so weak, I need all the help I can get!
