Stepping outside of my comfort zone in the kitchen is not something I do often, so when I created a garlic parmesan Cornish hen and potatoes recipe, my family was impressed. The best news, a phone call home to mom for help was not involved. Tyson® All Natural Premium Cornish Hens and Ravage Cabernet Sauvignon from Sam’s Club will definitely be making another appearance in my home for holiday entertaining.
My husband is Italian and literally tries to sneak garlic and parmesan into everything we eat. It’s much welcomed when he is making homemade sauce and meatballs, but they aren’t ingredients I normally use in the kitchen when I cook. The garlic parmesan Cornish hen and potatoes are the perfect nod to my husband’s favorite Italian flavors without making a full family pasta meal. Cornish hens are certainly an intimidating protein choice but surprisingly, they are very easy to prepare.
They can be brined, roasted and even cooked in the crockpot. Watch this short video to see how easy it is!
I purchased everything I needed to make the easy garlic parmesan Cornish hen and potatoes recipe at Sam’s Club. Now through 11/20, the Sam’s Club Instant Savings booklet has an offer of $3.75 off the six pack of Tyson® All Natural Premium Cornish Hens. The hens are all natural with no artificial ingredients, preservatives, added hormones or steroids. The Ravage Cabernet Sauvignon is a great choice to pair with the recipe and I picked up an extra bottle to have on hand for holiday dinner guests.
Garlic parmesan cornish hen and potatoes recipe

- Tyson® All Natural Premium Cornish Hens
- 2 C gourmet medley potatoes
- 2 C heavy cream
- 2 C grated parmesan cheese
- 2 garlic cloves
If your Cornish hens are frozen, allow to thaw before preparing recipe.
Begin by preparing the parmesan cream sauce. Saute garlic in skillet then add cream and parmesan. Simmer on low heat until sauce is creamy and all cheese has melted. Cover and simmer additional 10 minutes.
recipe tip: use a garlic press to easily crush garlic cloves.
Next prepare the potatoes by cutting in half.
Place Cornish hens, back side down, in casserole dish. Layer with potatoes then cover with parmesan cream sauce.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 90 minutes. Then bake for additional 20 minutes at 400° to brown top.
Serve to your adult guests with the Ravage Cabernet Sauvignon for the perfect elegant holiday meal. Trust me, they’ll never know you spent less time preparing this meal than setting the dinner table.
The Cornish hen gets a nice crispy top and the meat is tender and juicy. The parmesan cream sauce adds just the right flavor poured over the hen and potatoes.
