I was in for a big surprise in the kitchen when I married my Italian husband. He grew up cooking with his grandfather and food is very important to his family. Although he doesn’t do it often, spending all day in the kitchen making sauce from tomatoes is a favorite family activity. He doesn’t follow recipes; every Italian dish he’s made in our home has been from memories of cooking with his grandfather making it impossible for me to ever replicate on my own. He’s extremely picky and we rarely dine out at Italian restaurants because every dish is compared to the homemade meals he grew up with. I don’t blame him – my favorite story about his grandfather is him bringing his own sauce to restaurants when they dined out. While making tortillas with my grandmother is how I grew up in the kitchen, I have absolutely no experience to be proud of cooking Italian meals. Enter Bertolli®. The Bertolli Chicken Parmigiana & Penne paired with an easy parmesan ricotta dip is the perfect meal that even my very particular Italian husband loves. Bonus, during the month of February at all Kroger banner stores, Bertolli Meals for Two will be the lowest price of the year. I stopped by my local Fry’s Grocery and picked up everything I needed to make a tasty Italian dinner this week.

Bertolli Frozen meals create more than just dinner, they create memories and moments together. Moments created by not spending hours in the kitchen preparing dinner are my favorite because let’s be honest here, I simply don’t have time to do that often.
