Outdoor Exercise | Essentials for Kids at the Park | GIVEAWAY

This post is sponsored by BODYARMOR in collaboration with the Mom It Forward influencer network. All opinions are my own.

Our nine year old daughter amazes us everyday with her commitment to have a healthy strong body. She is on a competitive rock climbing team and really enjoys pushing her young body to be stronger everyday. We live about an hour away from the gym where she rock climbs and practices multiples times weekly with her team. Because of that commute, we don’t have the availability to be there everyday so our daughter gets creative with how she works out. Outdoor exercise with essentials for kids at the park is part of our everyday routine outside of the days my daughter spends climbing at the gym. Protective gear, differing forms of transportation and drinks for hydration like BODYARMOR SportWater from Kroger are all included in our outdoor exercise essentials.

Hydration for young athletes is so important and if nothing else makes it to the park with us, we always pack fluids to keep our daughters hydrated. We moved just a few months ago and have been exploring our local neighborhood parks. Although we have several, our favorite doesn’t have swings or a play structure with slides. The climbing structures at our favorite neighborhood park are perfect for our nine year old rock climbing daughter and she gets so much out of 30 minutes of play.

Strength training and activities for her core require great hydration to keep her strong. BODYARMOR SportWater was just launched in 2017 and designed for athletes. The 8+ Performance pH and Sports Electrolyte formula with a wide-mouth bottle is perfect for our essentials at the park for kids outdoor exercise.

In 2017, BODYARMOR launched two new products, their BODYARMOR SuperWater and BODYARMOR LYTE. The LYTE product has the same flavor as the original but is naturally sweetened and only has 20 calories per serving. By bringing along both the SuperWater and the LYTE, we are fully equipped at the park to hydrate our entire family.

BODYARMOR SportWater is available in 20 oz., 23.7 oz. Sports Cap and 1 Liter bottles. The original premium sports drink is packed with electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins and is low in sodium and high in potassium. It contains natural flavors and sweeteners and no colors from artificial sources.

Essentials for Kids at the Park

Protective Gear

A helmet and wrist guards are the basic requirement in our home when our daughters are riding to the park. Our youngest daughter also regularly wears elbow and knee pads but our nine year old daughter has had some falls resulting in topical injuries that could have been prevented by wearing pads.

Differing Forms of Transportation

Going to the park is always exciting because we switch up the form of transportation regularly. Occasionally we walk but most days our oldest daughter is riding a bike, scooter, rollerblades or her hover board. By using differing forms of transportation, our park visits are a different exercise multiple times a week.

Drinks for Hydration

BODYARMOR drinks are a perfect way to provide superior hydration.

BODYARMOR LYTE is available in Cherry Berry and Peach Mango flavors. With only 20 calories per serving, it’s “heavy on hydration and LYTE on calories.”

  5. It is so great that she can still get some training in at the local park! Staying active and having good fuel are both super important for kids, especially kid athletes. I remember I would leave sim practice as a kid, go to my dad’s house, and train on my won in his pool lol
