Mod Podge and Tissue Paper Earrings

A few days ago I was standing in line at the grocery store and noticed a girl wearing a really pretty pair of earrings.  I was staring at her earrings and decided they looked like something I could make.  I’m so glad I tried something new!

Supplies:
-Chip Board
-Mod Podge and brush
-Tissue Paper
-Pattern for earring style (I used a pair of earrings)

Trace your pattern on the chipboard.

For a more intricate design I would suggest using an exacto knife to cut out the chip board.  I had a solid shape so I used scissors.

Cover one side of the shape with Mod Podge.

Start covering the shape with small pieces of tissue paper.

Apply a coat of Mod Podge in between each layer of tissue paper.

I ended with four different layers of paper.  You can use more or less depending on the look you are trying to achieve.

Do not trim the edges of the tissue paper.  Instead, use Mod Podge to wrap them around onto the other side.

Repeat the same steps to completely cover the back side of the earrings.
Let the earrings dry for a few hours.
I used a crafting tool to punch a small hole in the top of the earrings and added some hardware.

I think I’ll try making a few different pairs with other colors!

I’m linking this post here.
