Family fun with Disney’s FROZEN {movie review and activity printables}

Disney FROZEN is in theaters today, November 27, and I couldn’t be more excited to share details of this fun family movie.

FROZEN movie posterPrior to seeing the movie at a press screening earlier this week, our family has been counting the days to the movie release in theaters.

Fearless optimist Anna sets off an epic journey–teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven–to find sister Elsa whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arandelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. -Disney Press Release

We instantly fell in love the with the energetic Anna voiced by Kristen Bell. She is fearless and her naive enthusiasm for finding love leaves you wondering how she will ever save an entire kingdom.

FOZEN Anna

Anna’s older sister Elsa was born with mystical powers that allow her to control ice and snow. Very early in the movie we see Anna and Elsa playing together when an accident causes Elsa to be kept locked in her bedroom for the fear of the kingdom finding out about the powers.

Anna lost all memory of the accident and doesn’t know about Elsa’s powers until, in an act of frustration, leaves their kingdom and town in an eternal winter. She leaves Arandelle and builds herself an ice castle in the mountains.

Younger sister Anna convinces the guests at Arandelle she can find Elsa and bring back summer. In the cold search for her sister, Anna meets the charming Kristoff and his charismatic reindeer Sven.

Together they encounter the funniest snowman with a warm heart, Olaf. He was brought to life by Elsa’s powers and shines in the movie with his musical act proclaiming his enthusiasm for experiencing summer.

The journey to bringing Elsa home and stopping the winter is challenging but full of heart warming messages along the way. FROZEN is a new family favorite and I look forward to seeing it again in the theater over the holiday weekend.

I personally can’t decide which FROZEN character is my most favorite. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, and every other cast member together create a magical movie the entire family will love.
