DIY Burlap Table Runner for holiday entertaining

When my doorbell rings unexpectedly during the holiday season it usually is followed by a neighbor delivering cookies or a friend dropping by their family card. Most days that unexpected doorbell ring makes me want to run and hide because I’m not prepared with an easy holiday entertaining plan for our home. This year we are ready! The easy burlap table runner I made and Kaukauna® cheese products from Kroger have me feeling prepared for surprise visitors. A quick port wine cheddar and bacon recipe is perfect for entertaining all year long and can be made with just three ingredients.

In just minutes I made a port wine cheese and bacon dip that can easily be put together when unexpected visitors are at your home. DIY Burlap Table Runner

Supplies:

• 2 yards burlap (find the painted burlap at your local craft store!)
• 4 yards crochet lace trim
• glue gun

Cut the burlap to the desired table runner size. I just cut the piece in half to make our runner. Glue trim along the edges the entire length of the table runner.

Wrap 1/2″ inch of trim around the back of the runner and glue in place.

Port Wine Cheddar and Bacon Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

• Kaukauna® Port Wine Cheddar Spreadable Cheese Cup
• 8 oz cream cheese
• several pieces of cooked bacon

Spread cream cheese on bottom of serving dish. Spread layer of Kaukauna® cheese on top. Top with chopped bacon. Enjoy with your favorite crackers!
