Have you heard of The Color Run? It’s a super fun 5K that leaves you covered in color. Literally. Each kilometer of the race has a designated color and as you run you get it splattered all over you! Fun, fun, fun! I’ve seen pictures from friends participating in previous years but I’ve never actually attended myself. I’m so excited to join the fun this year!
The 2013 Arizona Color Run is in Tempe Saturday, January 26. There are a few different start time options: 7:30, 8:10, and 8:45. The race is very family friendly and kiddos under the age of 5 attend for free with an adult racer. If you’re okay getting your jogging stroller blasted with color, bring it along!
The Color Run website has a very detailed FAQS page. I found all my answers and plenty more information there. I’ll share a few answers to questions directly from the website:
Do I need to be some sweet ole’ runner to do this?Oh my goodness, NO. There are plenty of other great 5ks out there to test speed and performance. This Color Run™ event is all about a color crazy day with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl, or cartwheel if you wish!
Is there an age limit for younger runners?No age limits:) If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling) the 3 miles of The Color Run™ course, they can absolutely do The Color Run™ 5k! Remember though, as soon as they turn 6 they will need to register and have a race bib!
Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?On one condition…if you are prepared to be one of the hippest moms/dads on the planet! As long as they are cute and like to have fun…all kiddos 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and do not need to register!
Are you ready for the rules? They are simple! Just wear a white top and be ready for colorful fun!
