Celebrating a Birthday in Disneyland: How To Make It Amazing!

In addition to celebrating my daughter’s birthday with a super fun art themed party, we also planned an amazing weekend in Disneyland.  Our family loves Disney and we spend most birthdays there.  We have countless memories of great visits but this was, by far, the best for our daughter!

Her birthday morning began at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a full princess salon experience.

A special fairy godmother in training helped her pick out a dress and hair style before completely transforming her into a princess.  She had her hair done, make-up applied, and nails painted.

Then she went to the special photo area in the back of the boutique to see Cinderella’s carriage.

We went on a few rides before it was time to celebrate at The Plaza Inn.

We were so excited to bring our princess to the party.  Everyone there was celebrating a birthday!

There was plenty of singing and dancing.  Then Micky and Minnie arrived to lead a birthday song for all the guests.

We returned to our room at the Disneyland hotel to discover Mickey and Minnie had been celebrating and left a birthday surprise.

The Disney Dream Makers did an excellent job making sure it looked like Mickey and Minnie had been in our room and left behind plenty of birthday goodies.  The package had a personalized note from Mickey that made the gift even more special!  They also left an autograph book signed by Mickey and Minnie with a special birthday message.  I was excited to see my daughter’s name embroidered on the back of her birthday hat too!

We were exhausted after such a fun day!  The next day my daughter made sure she visited the princesses for autographs in the new book Mickey left in our room on her birthday.

I didn’t want to leave any of the fun birthday treats behind but we were flying home and had limited luggage space.  Great news – everything can come home with you!  The balloons have a special closure that easily removes so they can deflate and be reused later.  The pretty box with all the presents folded easily and fit right into our small carry on.

We had an absolutely amazing time and I know my daughter loved every minute of her special Disneyland birthday!

All reservations should be made in advance to guarantee your preferred times and options.  Each experience has different levels and prices.  I was not compensated in any way to share this information, we just love Disney!

Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle and Cinderella Transforming Carriage

Last week I shared the fun I had shopping with my daughter for her Disney Princess birthday gifts.  Our Mother/Daughter Shopping experience was great and the products we brought home have been so much fun for both of us!  Having the  Ultimate Dream Castle in her bedroom has completely intensified her love for the Disney Princesses!

My daughter wanted to put the castle together the second we walked it into our home.  She has had the castle on her birthday and holiday wish list for a long time and she couldn’t believe we actually had the box in her bedroom.  Waiting to put it together would have been horrible for both of us so we ripped open the box and had the new castle complete before my husband was home from work.  The castle structure was not difficult to piece together because of the detailed instructions.  The castle comes with a lot of very small and ridiculously cute accessories for the Princesses.  My daughter worked on the little pieces while I put the big parts together.  With teamwork we had the castle completed in less than an hour.

My daughter was also extremely excited to open her new Cinderella Transforming Carriage.

The carriage required no assembly and she started playing with it immediately!  She can easily transform the pumpkin to a carriage by herself and is very enthusiastic every single time she asks me to watch the magic.

I have really enjoyed watching her play with dolls in the castle.  Sometimes she lets me play with her but other times she wants to play on her own.  I’m not sure which I prefer.  Playing with princesses in a huge castle is so much fun!

We do not own any of the Disney Princess dolls yet so we have been using other dolls from her playroom to play in the castle.

The castle has so many fun features.  One of my daughter’s favorites is the magic carpet elevator.

Tea parties in the castle kitchen have been keeping us busy.

The Ultimate Dream Castle and Mattel Cinderella Transforming Carriage were perfect holiday gifts for my daughter.  The castle has been on her wishlist for a long time and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make the purchase this year.  I am so happy we did!  She has been playing with the castle every chance she gets.  I have enjoyed watching her get so excited to twirl her dolls around and pretend like they are princesses.  I can’t remember when I stopped playing with dolls in dollhouses but I’m sure it was well beyond my fourth birthday.  I’m confident the castle will be something she continues to play with as she grows.  Just as I can remember my first big dollhouse, I’m sure she will have childhood memories of this castle.

We have added a few Disney Princess dolls to our holiday shopping list!  We already have purchased the new Cinderella Blu-Ray/DVD but I’m not sure I can keep hidden before Christmas much longer!

Disney Princess Mother/Daughter Shopping Fun

I’ve been talking a lot about princesses lately. Mostly because I’m almost finished with my daughter’s princess bedroom transition.  Also because we are planning a special surprise weekend in Disneyland for her fourth birthday next month.  We have already purchased the new Cinderella Blu-Ray DVD as a gift and I’ve been paying close attention to my daughter’s holiday wishlist.  She has been talking about the Mattel Ultimate Dream Castle for a few months.  As you can imagine, she was ridiculously excited when I took her to Wal-Mart this week to buy the princess castle as an early birthday present.

Before I told her about the Princess Castle surprise, we had some fun on my phone playing with the new Disney Princess Royal Ball Augmented Reality App.  It definitely put us in the mood to do some princess shopping!  The app is available on Android and Apple devices.  It’s extremely easy to download and use.  The best part is it’s free.  Yes, free!  To find the app, just search “Disney Princess Royal Ball”.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, have some fun dressing princesses, decorating a carriage, and dancing at a royal ball.  Trust me, this is just as much fun for the mommies as it is for the kiddos!  I loved it!  My daughter did too!  Do you like the pretty carriage she built?

One of my daughter’s favorite features is the ability to take pictures of herself wearing the princess clothes and riding in the carriage she created.

There is plenty of fun to be had with the app but it gets better if you bring it with you to Wal-Mart and scan images to unlock features and more interactive games.  We were happy when we found the Royal Ball image and unlocked two additional dresses, crowns, and pairs of shoes.

My daughter loved seeing herself dressed like Snow White.

The best part of my daughter’s morning came when I told her she could pick out something special for her birthday.  We found so many great Disney Princess items.  It was definitely a tough decision for her.

She already has a princess bike at home but she almost had me convinced she needed a bigger and faster one.  She couldn’t quite decide if she liked the Huffy Disney Princess 12″ Bike or the 16″ Huffy Disney Princess Bike better.

She really wanted to bring home a Disney Princess FJ 12V Cruiser.  She told me she needed it to get to our neighborhood park.

We spotted the Ultimate Dream Castle and were amazed.  My daughter was singing and hugging the box!

In addition to the castle, we also brought home the Mattel Cinderella Transforming Carriage.  My daughter asked if we could put the castle together before her birthday.  Absolutely!  I knew from the moment I saw it in Wal-Mart that I wasn’t going to be able to wait that long to play with it!  Some of my best childhood memories are playing with dolls.  Most of my other favorite childhood memories come from family summer vacations to Disneyland.  This special gift is letting me combine the two.  I am so excited to be able to make great memories with my daughter playing with Disney Princesses in their own special castle.  I hope she remembers how much fun we had out shopping for her special birthday gift.  I know I will!
