Make S’mores with Your Leftover Valentine’s Day Chocolates

Valentine’s Day was such a fun holiday for us this year.  My four year old daughter had so much fun handing out and receiving valentines at school.  She completely understood that the purpose of the holiday is to celebrate the love you feel for friends and family.  She has a real sweet tooth and loved that she brought home so much chocolate.  Today I found the perfect use for all the leftover chocolate; we made yummy s’mores!

Ingredients:

  • graham crackers
  • marshmallows
  • leftover Valentine’s Day chocolates

Using a microwave safe plate, stack a chocolate and marshmallow on top of a graham cracker.

Candy Making for Kids {online book tour and giveaway}

I’m sure you are all familiar with Courtney Dial Whitmore.

I had the opportunity to sit next to her during a workshop at the SNAP conference.  Already being a huge fan of her work, I was ecstatic to meet her.  She is absolutely adorable and sweet!

She works with a long list of major brands.  She writes for Disney, The Huffington Post, SheKnows, Hostess with the Mostess, and Tablespoon.  She has a fabulous blog, Pizzazzerie, packed full of the most amazing parties and fun ideas you’ve ever seen.

There’s so much to more to this girl’s resume.  Did I mention she released two books this year?  Her first book, the wildly popular Push-up Pops, was published earlier this year.  I am beyond excited to be included in the online book tour for her next amazing book, Candy Making for Kids.  She also has a book all about frosting being debuted early next year.

Candy Making for Kids, written by Courtney Dial Whitmore with amazing photography by Zac Williams, was just released this week and I can’t wait to receive my copy in the mail!  From Candy Bar Truffles to Rainbow Sprinkle Fudge, this book is full of amazing recipes and ideas for ridiculously cute treats.

None of the recipes in the book require specific candy making tools which makes this a great gift idea too.    You can purchase a copy of the book from Amazon or Barnes&Noble online.  If you would like your copy personalized for yourself or a gift, Courtney will send you a signed book plate.  To receive one of her darling red and white polka dotted book plate labels, email the following to courtney@pizzazzerie.com with BOOK SIGNATURE in the subject line:
-a copy of your proof of purchase (screen shot of order, picture of receipt, etc.)
-the address to send the book plate
-who to make the greeting out to

I guarantee my daughter is going to love this book and I have big plans for all the times I will reference the great recipes!  There is an entire chapter devoted to holiday treats and it’s perfect for play dates, potlucks, holidays, parties and more!

Courtney is generously giving away a copy of Candy Making for Kids to one of you.  See, I told you she was super sweet!

A special thanks to Courtney for inviting me to be a stop in her online book tour!
